What is AlcoDens LQ?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

AlcoDens LQ is a blending & gauging calculator made by\u202fKatmar Software<\/a>.\u202f It has all the functionality of the calculators built into DISTILL x 5 and Whiskey Systems, plus additional functionality and support for spirits blends containing sugar.\u202fThere is no business relationship between FIVE x 5 and Katmar Software; we just think that it\u2019s useful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“LQ” stands for Liqueur and this differentiates the two versions of the software that are available.\u202f AlcoDens costs $195 and does not support sugar\/liqueurs, while AlcoDens LQ costs $295 and does.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where do I get it?<\/strong>

It only runs on Windows PCs natively.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if I use a Mac?<\/strong> 
If you have a Mac, you will need to use\u202fCrossOver<\/a>\u202f(emulator software, costs around $50).\u202fLuckily, AlcoDens LQ is recognized in CrossOver\u2019s \u201cWhat Runs<\/a>\u201d database. At time of writing, CrossOver offers a 14 day free trial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How about a mobile device, web version or tablet version?<\/strong> 
No dice \u2013 you\u2019ll have to use DISTILL x 5 or Whiskey Systems calculators, instead. AlcoDens only runs on full-fledged computers (desktop or laptop). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free Trial<\/strong> 
AlcoDens (LQ) offers a free trial, so you can evaluate the software for your needs before you commit. AlcoDens (LQ) will start-up 14 times<\/strong> before locking and requiring a license activation; the trial has no time limit, only a limit to the number of times you can start the program.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do I install the license key?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Save license file to disk after purchase (it will arrive in an email) <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. Run AlcoDens LQ trial version <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. Click on Help icon (Question mark) and select \u201cInstall License Key\u201d <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        1. Open file saved in Step 1 above <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          1. Exit from AlcoDens LQ & Restart AlcoDens LQ \u2013 now it is the full version

            IMPORTANT: Setup Items\u202f<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            1) Change calculation basis to “TTB”<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            When you first open AlcoDens, click on the green Question Mark icon on the right and select “Set Mass Basis”:\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Again, click the green Question Mark and choose “Standard Temperature”: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Choose the “Lock and set all to” option, change from Celsius to Fahrenheit, and enter “60.00” as the temperature: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
