Why Whiskey Systems is retiring
Whiskey Systems is built on a third-party software library. Third-party support for that library ends at the end of 2026.
Once that support ends, Whiskey Systems will eventually stop working reliably. That’s outside our control.
Rather than rebuild Whiskey Systems from scratch, we’re bringing everyone to DISTILL x 5. Same team. One platform, moving forward.
Our development team expects Whiskey Systems to run without major issues through June 30, 2027. Beyond that, we can’t promise it will stay stable, so we’re helping everyone make the move before then.

Moving to DISTILL x 5 doesn’t mean starting over.
Your history
Your historical data is yours when you migrate, no matter what. You keep read-only access to all your Whiskey Systems data. It’s a snapshot, so it doesn’t depend on Whiskey Systems staying live. Your past transactions and reports stay there for reference. We’re also planning a way for you to view that history from inside DISTILL x 5.
Your contract
You sign a new DISTILL x 5 agreement with the same terms and the same renewal date. The only change is a lower price. At renewal, your tier adjusts to your production volume, just as it always has.
Your team
The same FIVE x 5 team you already know, including the same in-house, US-based support team. Real people, a call or email away, who typically reply within 20 minutes during business hours. Plus Ragan Floyd, our Migration Lead.
Your setup
We load your starting inventory, so your balances pick up right where Whiskey Systems left off. We set up your first mash bill, blended recipe and storage profile with you.

How Whiskey Systems migration works
Your DISTILL x 5 account can be ready to use in about a day, depending on your operation’s complexity. Finishing your setup and settling into the software takes longer. Most distillers feel fully settled in within one to two months of go-live.

Is Whiskey Systems being discontinued?
Yes. Whiskey Systems retires on June 30, 2027. Support for the software library it’s built on ends at the end of 2026, and our development team expects Whiskey Systems to run without major issues through June 30, 2027. We can’t promise stability beyond that, so we’re helping every customer move to DISTILL x 5 before then.
Will I lose access to Whiskey Systems at the end of 2026?
No. Support for the library ends at the end of 2026, but Whiskey Systems keeps running. Our development team expects it to run without major issues through June 30, 2027.
Can I still log in to Whiskey Systems?
Yes. Keep logging in and recording in Whiskey Systems until your DISTILL x 5 go-live date. Log in to Whiskey Systems →
When do I need to schedule my migration?
We recommend scheduling by March 31, 2027. Our migration team works with a set number of distilleries at a time, so scheduling by then lets us reserve your go-live date before Whiskey Systems retires on June 30, 2027. You can still schedule after March 31, but we may not be able to promise a date before June 30. The earlier you reach out, the more dates you have to choose from.
What if I can’t schedule by March 31?
Reach out anyway. We’ll still help you move. Dates after March 31 depend on our team’s availability, so contact us as soon as you can and we’ll find the earliest opening that works for you.
What happens to my historical data?

Why does DISTILL x 5 start fresh on my go-live date?
Past Whiskey Systems transactions don’t need to import directly into DISTILL x 5. You pick a go-live month, and we load your opening balances as of the first day: finished products, onsite barrels, active fermenters and active tanks. Your Whiskey Systems month-end matches your DISTILL x 5 opening balances. From there, DISTILL x 5 is your system of record.
Will I pay more on DISTILL x 5?
No. DISTILL x 5 costs less than Whiskey Systems. Most customers save about 3–5%, depending on their pricing. You sign a new agreement with the same terms and renewal date, at DISTILL x 5 pricing. At renewal, your tier adjusts to your production volume, just as it always has.

We’ll walk through your exact workflows in your demo. Lot Tracking and the Federal Excise Return report are live now. Linked DSPs ships in November 2026. Blending, financial reporting and offsite barrel management are next on the roadmap.
How long does migration take?
Your DISTILL x 5 account can be set up, with your starting inventory loaded, in about a day, depending on your operation’s complexity. Then you finish setting up at your own pace. Most distillers feel fully settled in within one to two months of go-live. You keep recording in Whiskey Systems until your go-live date.
Does my renewal date change?
No. Your new DISTILL x 5 agreement keeps your current renewal date.
